Explanation of our Ending Fund Balance for the School Year 2023-24

The District has recently received inquiries about the ending fund balances and whether the school district actually experienced a negative ending fund balance for the 23-24 school year. To understand the answer to this question, you must understand some things about a school district budget.

Newberg School District is pleased to announce that Dr. Dana Christie has been named the Director of Special Programs

Dana comes to the district with an impressive educational background. Throughout her 17-year career, she has served in various roles, including Educational Assistant, Licensed Special Education teacher, Special Education Coach and Mentor, and Special Education Coordinator. For the past six years, Dana has served as the Director of Student Services at Woodburn School District.

Newberg Dundee Public Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Nathan Roedel as our new Director of Finance. Roedel, a long-time Newberg resident, previously served in this role from 2009 to 2013. He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of excellence in school finance and operations.

The Board of Directors of Newberg School District 29J will meet in Executive Session Thursday, October 3, 2024 in the Board Room at the District Office, 714 E Sixth Street, Newberg, OR to interview a candidate for position of Interim Superintendent, narrow candidates and appoint directors to enter into negotiations with finalist.
