Newberg School District Welcomes Back Jamie McParland as Technology Coordinator

Jamie brings over 20 years of experience in education, instructional technology, and systems leadership and a proven commitment to keeping students and teachers at the heart of his work. Jamie served in the Newberg-Dundee School District from 2000 to 2022, leading the technology department from 2008 through 2022. During that time, he was known for his collaborative approach, deep understanding of instructional needs, and ability to deliver practical, reliable solutions that supported learning across the district. Since then, he has continued his leadership in the Woodburn School District, where he played a key role in integrating instructional technology, leading staff development, and managing district-wide systems.

“Jamie has a unique ability to connect big-picture strategy with what’s happening in the classroom,” said Interim Superintendent Dave Parker. “He knows how to support teachers, strengthen infrastructure, and keep learning at the center of our technology systems. Many staff will be relieved and excited to see him back.”

Jamie will begin his role in early May and will immediately start working with district and school staff to improve systems, strengthen cybersecurity, and support instructional technology. We’re excited to welcome him back to the Newberg team.
