Newberg Dundee Public Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Nathan Roedel as our new Director of Finance. Roedel, a long-time Newberg resident, previously served in this role from 2009 to 2013. He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of excellence in school finance and operations.
Since his time with our district, he has continued to grow as a leader in education. Roedel served as the Chief Financial Officer in Oregon City Schools and, for the past nine years, in the Hillsboro School District, has been recognized as one of the top School Nutrition Services Directors in the state. Nathan’s dedication to operational excellence and innovative approach to school nutrition programs have earned him widespread respect across Oregon.
He is now ready to bring his expertise back to the business department, where his strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to student success will continue to make a positive impact. Roedel expressed his enthusiasm for returning to finance, “I’m excited and encouraged to support not only the hard work and momentum of the leadership in NDPS but also to contribute toward the stewardship of the school system in the community that I call home. We have some great work ahead of us as we reintroduce systems of reporting and transparency.”
He comes highly recommended by many of Oregon’s outstanding school business professionals. Interim Director of Finance Gayellyn Jacobson shared, “Nate is intelligent, a good listener, detail-oriented and compassionate. He has a broad experience base and is well-connected within the school finance community. I look forward to working with him as he leads the district forward.”
Interim Superintendent Dave Parker also shared their excitement about Nathan’s return: “We are thrilled to welcome Nathan Roedel back to Newberg Dundee Public Schools. I have worked with Nate, and his breadth of experience, combined with his passion for serving schools, will be an invaluable asset as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
