Who is the main contact for the Dual Language Program?
The principal in each building is the main contact for the Dual Language Program.
Is 4th and 5th grade going to MS?
Only fifth graders will transition to the middle school as incoming sixth graders.
How/when to register for MS?
Information will be coming home in April for Middle School forecasting.
Is there instruction in both languages?
Yes, at this time, students will have Humanities in Spanish. All other classes will be taught in English.
What is the difference between Spanish and English literacy classes?
The language arts standards will be divided up and split between Spanish Literacy and English Literacy so the classes will each have different focuses.
Who will teach Spanish humanities?
The District will be recruiting a teacher that is highly qualified and is bilingual, with the intent that they are also a native Spanish speaker.
Will there be Spanish Humanities curriculum?
Yes, the District will have curriculum in Spanish for Humanities.
What are the class sizes?
Middle school class size varies from 25-32. PE classes are larger, 36-40.
What are elective choices?
Elective choices are band, choir, strings, art, Spanish, 3D Printing, Future Builders, Sixth Grade Success, Intramurals, STEM, and Cooking.
What language are the electives in?
Electives will be taught in English.
How many electives will students be able to take?
Students will be able to choose one elective per semester when they are in the Dual Language Program.
What is the Spanish speaking support system?
Mountain View has bilingual support staff.
Will there be transportation?
Yes, transportation will be provided for all students in the Dual Language Program.
Can siblings from CV transfer to MV and receive transportation so all siblings can be at the same middle school?
Yes, we will accommodate siblings of students in the Dual Language Program so that siblings can attend one middle school.
Is there free and reduced lunch?
There is free and reduced lunch for students that qualify. Application information is available here.

El distrito escolar reclutará a un(a) maestro(a) que esté altamente calificado y que sea bilingüe, con la intención de que también sea hablante nativo del idioma español.

Sí, el Distrito contará con un programa de estudio en español para Humanidades.
¿Cuáles son los tamaños de las clases?
El tamaño de las clases de la escuela secundaria varía de 25 a 32 estudiantes. Las clases de educación física son más grandes, 36-40.
¿Cuál es la selección de clases optativas(electives)?
La selección de clases optativas incluye: banda, coro, instrumentos de cuerdas, arte, español, impresión 3D, Future Builders, Éxito en el Sexto Grado(Sixth Grade Success), intramuros (Intramurals), STEM y Cocina.
¿En qué idioma son las clases optativas?
Las clases optativas se impartirán en inglés.
¿Cuántas clases optativas (electives)podrán tomar los estudiantes?
Los estudiantes podrán elegir una clase optativa por semestre cuando estén en el Programa de Lenguaje Dual.
¿Qué es el sistema de apoyo de habla hispana?
Mountain View cuenta con personal de apoyo bilingüe.
¿Habrá transporte?
Sí, se proporcionará transporte a todos los estudiantes en el Programa de Lenguaje Dual.
¿Pueden los hermanos que asisten a la secundaria Chehalem Valley ser transferidos a la secundaria Mountain View y recibir servicio de transporte para que todos los hermanos puedan estar en la misma escuela secundaria?
