We wanted to make sure that we honored an amazing local student who the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce recently honored. The Chamber wrote:
Vada Coats, honored as our Junior Human of the Year, exhibits a maturity and adeptness that far surpass her age.
Graduating from Newberg High School this spring with close to a 4.0 GPA, she effortlessly juggles rigorous AP courses, online credits, and an intensive dance regimen of over 15 hours weekly.
Not only does she excel in her own practice, but she also devotes significant time to teaching dance for more than 6 hours weekly, crafting choreography for three competition pieces, and participating in 11 different dances this season. Her leadership and mentorship extend beyond the dance floor, as she guides and inspires younger students at the Chehalem Valley Dance Academy.
Furthermore, Vada sets an exemplary standard as a compassionate role model to her younger siblings and demonstrates a commendable commitment to self-care and mental well-being.
