Mark Brown, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for Newberg High School

A few of your main daily tasks:

  • NHS Facilities Management
  • NHS Communication
  • Athletics and Activities Supervision

One long-term project: Continue to create more opportunities for students to be involved in athletics and activities. Also, I would love to see our Athletics and Performing Arts facilities upgraded and improved.

Your main goal: Get students connected to athletics and activities because research shows that when students are involved in co-curricular activities, there is a positive correlation to their academic success and overall well-being. Growing up, athletics and activities were a big part of my life and a lot of my personal success stems from the coaches and adults who invested in me. My goal is to support our students in having the best high school experience possible so that they have fun during their four years of high school, but more importantly, so that they are prepared to be successful in life.
