Who’s Who? Profiles are windows into the lives of school leaders. We want our community to get to know us better.
Roger Lorenzen, Assistant Principal of Chehalem Valley Middle School
A few of your main daily tasks:
In my role, I:
- Ensure that school is a safe and healthy place for our students and staff members;
- Contribute to the school leadership team by setting a good example as a person and educator;
- Listen to the concerns of parents and students in an effort to better serve their needs.
One long-term project:
We implemented a new student recognition component this year by honoring CVMS Students of the Month with a breakfast celebration. It has been a great way to promote CV's positive school culture and to thank students for displaying quality character traits. Also, for representing their families so proudly.
Your main goal:
Promote the mission of our school by encouraging all to:
- Do our best;
- Do what's right; and
- Treat others as we would like to be treated.
Experience:
Began student-teaching in Newberg in the fall of 1978 with Carolyn DeCrevel as one of my supervising mentors. Still trying to keep pace with her!
