A Message of Appreciation for Our Special Services Staff

Newberg-Dundee Public Schools (NDPS) leaders wish to recognize and honor our employees during Special Education Day.

This day is observed every Dec. 2 to commemorate the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) into law on this day in 1975. IDEA, as amended in 2004, is a federal law governing special education services and federal funding for eligible children with disabilities, from birth to age 21, across the country. This past year in Oregon, IDEA funds helped support the education of almost 83,000 children who receive special education services.

NDPS expresses our deep appreciation and admiration for the staff members who support special services for the hundreds of students in our district who receive special education services. On this day and every day, we are grateful to the teachers, paraprofessionals, office staff, counselors, kitchen crew, custodians, and administrators, who support, advocate, and educate all students. Thank you all for your dedication to our students.
