A School District Presentation for Our Community

Community leaders were curious about what was new with Newberg-Dundee Public Schools.

Superintendent Stephen W. Phillips took the time to meet with them, sharing information and fielding questions during a community meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 8.

The information that Phillips shared included that the School District hired a second School Resource Officer, Officer Jay Stearns, who has revived the DARE program. Phillips also discussed how small class sizes are in the School District and how our students' scores compared to the state average on standardized tests. The work isn't done yet, though.

"We beat the state average, so we can hang our hat on that, but we're not done," Phillips said. "We have plenty of work to do."
