Spotlight is a weekly honor for which a colleague's nomination is required. These amazing Spotlight recipients, who are our staff, may receive more honors as the year progresses.
Shae Skiles is the Orchestra Director at both Chehalem Valley and Mountain View Middle Schools (CVMS and MVMS).
Her nominator, MVMS Band Director Kaden Christensen, said: “Shae is entering her second year teaching at the Newberg-Dundee School District, and she has already created a culture of high-level musicianship and camaraderie within the Orchestra Program. She spends extra time every week walking to Newberg High School to help orchestra students, on top of traveling between two schools every day. Anyone around her knows how important she is to her students and is a bright moment for most of their school days. The fact she can be this efficient in her second year out of college is unheard of.”
