Put a Bow on It: A Ribbon-Cutting Honors Edward Project’s Completion

The community celebrated the successful remodeling and expansion of Edwards Elementary School at an open house on Aug. 31.

Upgrading Edwards was a key project in the School District’s Construction Bond. The Edwards project included adding a new cafeteria, building a new Welcome Center, replacing temporary buildings with permanent classrooms, making safety and learning improvements, and painting two murals.

During his speech at the event, Superintendent Stephen W. Phillips thanked:

  • The taxpayers and the Edwards community;
  • BRIC Architecture and their design team, Cornerstone Management, personnel throughout our School District; and
  • Mural artist William Hernandez.

Hernandez worked with students and staff in developing the south mural design. He also worked with the mural committee and the School Board to create the mural on the north side of the Edwards campus.
