Who Qualifies and How to Apply for the Free or Reduced Meal Program

Families can apply to the free or reduced meal program or may be automatically enrolled.

How to Apply

Menu: To apply for the Free or Reduced Meal Program or to see the latest menu, visit Linq Connect’s website: https://linqconnect.com. Please email Charlynn Richlick with questions at [email protected].

Who Qualifies: Income

Local families may be eligible for the free or reduced meal program because of income. To qualify by income, a household must meet the federal income guidelines listed on the free or reduced meal application.

Who Qualifies: Federal Program

Many students are enrolled in the free or reduced meal program automatically:

  • Students in households that qualify for SNAP (food stamps) and/or TANF (EBT) are eligible for free meals. They are automatically enrolled in the program after their family completes a SNAP/TANF form. However, when applying, families must check the box that says that they elect to share their information with their school district. Learn more and apply for SNAP/TANF on the state's website.
  • Most foster children are eligible for free meals regardless of household income. If you have questions, contact Shyla Jasper.
  • Homeless students may notify Shyla Jasper to be enrolled in the free or reduced meal program.

The Nutrition Services Department maintains confidentiality for students approved for free or reduced meals. Students approved for free meal benefits are eligible for one breakfast and one lunch daily at no charge. Additional food items and second meals must be purchased separately and are not covered by the free or reduced meal program.
